What We Collect

• Survey answers (multiple-choice selections and free-text responses)
• Optional contact details (name, email, company) provided voluntarily at the end of the survey
• Country-level location (derived from IP address; no city, coordinates, or precise geolocation is stored)
• Session timing (time spent per question step, used to improve survey design)

Why We Collect This Data

We collect survey responses to produce an industry benchmark research report on AI adoption, measurement practices, and financial impact in software engineering organizations. Individual responses are aggregated and not published in identifiable form.

Legal Basis

We process your data based on your explicit consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You provide consent by checking the consent box before beginning the survey. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

Data Retention

• Survey response data is retained for the duration of the research project (maximum 24 months from collection)
• Contact details are deleted within 60 days of benchmark report delivery
• Session analytics data is retained for no longer than 12 months

Your Rights

Under the GDPR and applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Rectification of inaccurate personal data
• Erasure of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
• Data portability to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing

Data Storage

Survey data is hosted on Neon.tech (PostgreSQL). EU region migration is pending. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to the database is restricted to authorized personnel only.

Automated Decision-Making

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling based on your survey responses. All analysis is performed in aggregate for research purposes only.

Updates to This Notice

This privacy notice may be updated to reflect changes in our data practices or legal requirements. The "Last revised" date at the top of this page indicates when the most recent changes were made.
